An Analysis and Suggestion of English Romaniziation for English Textbooks according to 2015 Revised National Curriculum: Focusing on the First Grade Middle School English Textbooks. The Linguistic Association of Korea Journal, 24(3), 87-108. On September 23, 2015, the Ministry of Education announced a new national curriculum for elementary and secondary schools, Proclamation of the Ministry of Education #2015-74. This revised national curriculum will take effect on March 1, 2017. The purpose of this paper is threefold: i) to study how to write English Romanization for Korean culture-related terms such as proper names, landmarks and geographical locations, foods, etc, ii) to analyze English Romanization of Korean culture-related terms from 14 different first grade middle school English textbooks which are currently used, and iii) to suggest how to write English Romanization for new English textbooks which will be published after 2018 according to the 2015 Revised National Curriculum.
